FAQs

Who can participate?

  • Anyone who has spent any length of time in the NICU may be entered in the photo contest.
  • All full-term and premature NICU grads are welcome.
Can I enter my twins?

  • Multiple births such as twins, triplets, quadruplets, etc., are welcome to submit an entry either together or separately. 
How will winners be determined?

  • Grand Prize Winner (1) - The Then & Now photo entry with the largest number of votes across class categories of ‘24 - '06 at the end of the contest will be the grand prize winner.
  • Category Class of '24 - '06 Prize Winner (6) - The Then & Now photo entry with the largest number of votes at the end of the contest from each of the categories will be the category prize winner.
  • Runner-Up Class of '24 - '06 Prize Winner (6) - The Then & Now photo entry with the second-largest number of votes at the end of the contest from each of the categories will be the runner-up category prize winner.
  • 1st Place in the Class of '05 & Earlier: Adult Grads (1) - The Then & Now photo entry with the largest number of votes at the end of the contest from the  Class of '05 & Earlier will be the category prize winner.
  • Runner-Up in the Class of '05 & Earlier: Adult Grads (1) - The Then & Now photo entry with the second-largest number of votes at the end of the contest will be the runner-up Class of '05 & Earlier category prize winner.
How will winners be announced?

  • The winners of each category will be notified via email. You can also check the leaderboard to see how your entry photo is doing in the contest.
When does the contest end?

  • All photo entries must be submitted and voting completed by 10:00:00 PM (Central Time) on Sunday, May 19, 2024.
How are votes counted?

  • Every $1 donation counts as one vote. 100% of proceeds directly support NICU families.
When will I get my tax receipt?

  • Participants receive a transactional email that acknowledges their donation. Please consider this letter receipt of your tax-deductible donation. No goods or services were provided in exchange for this donation. Hand to Hold is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. EIN: 27-3802900.
Are there limitations on where calendars may be shipped?

  • Shipping is available for U.S. and Canada only.
What is the difference between the reserve a month 1 & 2 drop down slots?

  • There is no difference. They are only to hold the limited number of spaces for the reserving of the month.
Do I have to be in the contest to be in the calendar? 

  • Purchasing a reserve a day, month, or VIP spot will place you on the calendar, but does not automatically enter you in the contest. If you are entered in the contest, you have a chance to win a monthly spot and/or the cover placement as a prize.
