NICU Hospital for my journeySaint Peter's University Hospital
My NICU Graduate's JourneyAt my 30 week prenatal appointment, I was hospitalized with severe preeclampsia and HELLP syndrome. Three days later we welcomed Nathaniel into the world! He spent most of his time in the NICU escaping his CPAP and canula, charming the NICU nurses, and getting cuddles from Mom and Dad. Each day we were amazed at his resiliency. Slowly but surely he grew stronger and bigger. By the end of his NICU stay we were confident that he would thrive at home, and thrive he has! We brought Nathaniel home January 1st, 2024, and we have absolutely loved every moment of having him home. We can't help but smile back at his smiles and babbles!
What makes you proud of you NICU graduate?Nathaniel has always been so strong and active. He came out crying, and in the NICU, he was quickly (and lovingly) called a feisty baby. Ask any NICU nurse. They love a feisty, fighting NICU baby! Even with all the poking and prodding during his stay, he was an alert, curious newborn. During his NICU stay he continued to surprise us with his strength and resiliency. Now he is a smiley, playful, babbling baby. He is continuously growing and every day he amazes us with something new. We couldn't be more proud of our handsome, determined, curious Nathaniel.
