My NICU Graduate's JourneyNo one knows what a baby feels inside. All we can do is give them love, kindness, support and fight the struggle with them. What a heartbreaking feeling as you travelled down the hallways and hear all the babies crying their little eyes out. But as I was wheeled into Myles’ room, I noticed, he never once cried. He always gave me the hope that he was going to be just fine. It was a personal battle for me because I was in the ICU due to complications from childbirth, while he was in the NICU. He gave me the encouragement I needed to survive. Him and I, with each passing day, grew stronger together. It was an arduous and emotional journey, but I wouldn’t change it for the world.
What makes you proud of you NICU graduate? What makes me so proud is to see Myles as well as the other babies fight the struggles of surviving from being premature and the doctors and nurses that give their all to help those little ones. What a joyful moment! But even more joyful is when I entered the room, looked upon his face and embraced him, so he can feel the warmth and hear my voice and know that someone’s there and he is not alone. Watching him grow every moment into an amazing little man.
