NICU Hospital for my journeyAdvocate Christ Hospital Oak Lawn
My NICU Graduate's JourneyMya was born at just 24 weeks. She weighed 1lb 2oz and had a 148 day NICU stay at Christ Hospital. She was given a 20% to live passed the first week but she fought! She endured many many blood draws, and pokes but always remained strong. Despite having weekly scans with ultrasounds, ECHOS, & X-rays, bed side procedures, eye exams (her least favorite, and many therapy visits she always stayed sassy and worked hard. Even if the work meant pulling out a feeding tube or two.🤭 She was the fashionista of the NICU with many bows and always had her room and door decorated. Being discharged with a very busy schedule, Mya went home after her 6 month NICU. She is now 5 and the QUEEN of the household. She is going to graduate preschool soon and start swimming class, yes she still keeps us busy and always on our toes. We could not have gotten this far without all the healthcare HEROES at Christ NICU! Without the constant care, support, and help from all the Doctors, nurses, aides, specialists, therapist, and the nutrition department, because they always kept my baby girl fed with liquid gold, we would not be where we are with Mya today. We are forever grateful♥️ There have been some hospital stays along the way however we always make it back home!🙏
What makes you proud of you NICU graduate?Mya is STRONG! No matter how she is feeling she will always give you a piece of her attitude and personality. She is always willing to work hard and push through any obstacle. She is our joy and miracle baby.
