My NICU Graduate's Journey
Viggo was born at 26 weeks. We went into the hospital at 22 weeks and made it to viability. He overcame a grade 3 brain bleed, ROP, and chronic lung disease. He was in the NICU from July 2022 to November 2022. He has endured blood transfusions, xrays, umbilical IVs, feeding tubes, ventilators, CPAP, and canulas. He was discharged with oxygen and stayed on it until he was eight months old. He’s met every developmental milestone despite the obstacles he started with and even though he’s small, he is mighty.

What makes you proud of you NICU graduate?
I am proud of Viggo for being a fighter. He has an iron will that I have never seen in any child or person. Nothing stops him and he smiles through it all.
