NICU Hospital for my journeyMoses Taylor Hospital
My NICU Graduate's JourneyMy son was taken away from my chest only minutes after being born. They were concerned with his breathing and since I had a fever during labor, which caused concern of an infection. Within his first 24 hours, he was placed on a CPAP with a tube in his mouth and given numerous tests including a spinal tap. After his breathing was regulated, he wouldn’t eat so he required a feeding tube for 10 days. Going home without my son every night was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. My husband and I spent every day in the NICU from 6am until 9-10pm when we’d drive home with tears in our eyes. Bringing him home was the greatest feeling in the world!
What makes you proud of you NICU graduate?I’m so proud of our little man! He is now 7 months old and a FANTASTIC eater! Despite all he’s been through at such a young age, he always has the most pleasant disposition. I truly admire his resilience and his strength.
