NICU Hospital for my journeyHurley Hospital
My NICU Graduate's JourneyJami-Marie was born at 29 weeks and 4 days gestational. Born at 1.15oz she was tiny but a mighty feisty girl. She had a brain bleed that went on for a few weeks and thankfully started to absorb. After the pool of blood entered stage 4 I believed she would be diagnosed with cerebral palsy. She was not! Her brain bleed had cleared up before she went home!
She fought so very hard to be here and came home just 6 weeks after being born. She was able to leave the hospital at 4lbs.
Now she is a 11 months and pulling herself up on everything, maneuvering about (she thinks she can walk)! Talking/babbling all day and is learning very well.
What makes you proud of you NICU graduate?I am so proud of my baby. The team in the NICU really pushed her every single day increasing her feed amounts, lowering the amount of supported so via cpap, everything. She did not make a fuss, she worked just as hard to get home. She actually seemed to be and still is a great communicator! So she let them know in many ways she is ready!
She is growing and learning everyday and I cannot be more proud of her journey.
