My NICU Graduate's Journey
This is Chad, he was born at 32 weeks and weighed in at 3 pounds! Within a few days of birth, Chad developed a double pneumothorax and had to have chest tubes placed on both sides. We weren't able to hold him for the first time ever until he was 2 weeks old, and that was during his transfer from warming bed to incubator. And then he was able to go home at 1 month old, and just a shade under 5 lbs. Over the years he has overcome speech issues and some slower learning. He has also built a strong friend group and loves bowling!

What makes you proud of you NICU graduate?
He plans to attend college in the fall to major in Mechanical Engineering. After the rough start he had, college is one thing we were never sure about!
