My NICU Graduate's Journey
My sweet boy was born at 31 weeks, weighing 3lbs 5oz. I almost lost him in the womb, due to a TRUE knot in his cord. At four days old, on Christmas, he had emergency bowel surgery and had 20cm of his intestines removed. For 8 weeks he had an external ostomoy and fistula. He finally received his revision surgery and about a week later, after 67 days, my sweet boy was able to come home!

What makes you proud of you NICU graduate?
I am so proud of how strong my boy is. He fought for his life twice, he’s been through so much and still smiles everyday. He’s gaining weight and pooping and all the things he should be doing.
