NICU Hospital for my journeyDeaconess Hospital of Spokane
My NICU Graduate's JourneyThey told us our baby most likely wouldn't cry when he was born; he was too early to have the lung capacity. But Nick proved them wrong, coming out wailing at the top of his lungs. The nurses dubbed him "Surfer Boy" due to his full head of blond hair. The doctors called him spunky because he showed his stubbornness and wasn't afraid to make his voice heard. Nick graduated from the NICU at 4 pounds 7 ounces.
We were lucky parents of a preemie, considering that Nick had no major complications. He graduated from high school last year, played on the football team, and is now about to become an assistant manager at Taco Bell. He is saving up to fulfill his dream of becoming a commercial airline pilot.
What makes you proud of you NICU graduate?Nick has always been a fighter. He aims to do his best and is reflective in a way not common for most 19 year olds. I am proud of Nick because he is a supportive and caring friend.
