NICU Hospital for my journeyMemorial Hermann at Memorial City Medical Center
My NICU Graduate's JourneyJames spent 33 days in the NICU. He was born with Cutis aplasia, which is a piece of the scalp missing, due to prematurity. He spent 24 hours on a cpap, fortunately and 2 days under the blue light. He moved to open air after 9 days. Majority of his time there he worked hard day in and out on having “No Brady”, getting the feeding tube out and eventually taking bottles. This was a long and hard process, but considering his gestational age, he did phenomenal.
What makes you proud of you NICU graduate? We have come so far from years of Infertility to IVF to getting high BP throughout my pregnancy to the NICU to Graduation and beyond. James was our one and only embryo to make it through our IVF cycle, so he truly is our miracle baby and has been a fighter since day one. Even though he was doing great and growing well in Momma’s belly, Momma suffered from severe preeclampsia and it was for both our safety we deliver at 32 weeks. He is strong, resilient and the happiest/smiley baby and we could not be more proud of him.
