My NICU Graduate's Journey
Gabriel was born at 27 weeks due to Pre-E. Weighing 1 lb 12 oz, and 12.75” long. He spent 86 days there. At a week old they decided he was ready to take to the vent out, however, his stats were not good. Then we realized he developed MRSA pneumonia, and had the vent put back in. Many transfusions throughout his stay. Gabriel also had inguinal hernia repair. He nursed strong from the time he was born until 28 months. He was diagnosed with chronic lung disease, asthma, and mild CP. Gabriel is now 12 years old, suffers from asthma, but everything else has resolved now. He is a happy healthy boy who is about 80 lbs now. Our miracle baby.

What makes you proud of you NICU graduate?
Gabriel has always overcame every obstacle that was thrown at him. He is a fighter, and shows us everyday what a miracle he is.
