My NICU Graduate's Journey
Teresita was born at 24 weeks and 6 days due to cervical insufficiency. She was 1lb and 9oz at birth and stayed in the NICU for 92 days. The entire experience was a roller coaster with many good and bad days. We had the most amazing nurses and doctors at our side helping every step of the way.
This month she is turning 12 years old and we couldn’t be more thrilled. To have gone from a time where we didn’t even know if she would make it, to her being a happy and healthy preteen today is so surreal. We are eternally grateful for the hospital staff and the Children’s Hospital for being everything we didn’t know we needed on that journey.

What makes you proud of you NICU graduate?
Seeing her blossom into a happy and healthy young adult. Aside from her still being on the small side you would never have guessed what she went through. I’m proud of who she is becoming and how great of an artist she already is.
