My NICU Graduate's Journey
Resources mean everything. Gia was 14 weeks early (no third trimester!) and thanks to the innovation, skill, technology, and grace of her medical staff Gia was the smallest (by weight) baby EVER to leave the specialty care nurseries at HWH. Mommy was scared to pieces, but my team were Aces. They know how to bring strong, healthy babies home.

What makes you proud of you NICU graduate?
Two things:
If you don’t know, you don’t know. Gia is the best combo of “I know where I come from, but I know where I am going”. Her NICU experience gives her empathy and grace. Now at 12, she is able to understand that everyone has their own challenges and victories and that our job is to support them along their way.
