My NICU Graduate's Journey
My twins were monoamniotic. As a sonographer, I had concerns from the start about whether they would survive. After meeting with an excellent neonatologist at UConn during my 8 week inpatient stay, we determined we would deliver at 32 weeks. It was an incredibly nerve wracking pregnancy, but we made our goal of 32 weeks. My boys were 4 lbs 1 oz each - identical from the go. We were in the UConn NICU 41 (Nolan) and 42 (Gabe) days. They will be 11 at the end of May. We can’t thank everyone enough who helped us through that tough initial period.

What makes you proud of you NICU graduate?
My 32 weekers were feeders and growers - we were extremely blessed. Now they are getting ready to graduate 5th grade and go into Middle School. They are both kind, funny, smart, and creative kids with great futures ahead of them.
