NICU Hospital for my journeyBaptist Health of Lexington
My NICU Graduate's JourneyLuke was growing and developing right on track. I, on the other hand, developed HELLP Syndrome and Preeclampsia. The only cure for HELLP Syndrome is delivery. Due to me being so sick, Luke had to be delivered at 31 weeks and 3 days. He spent 47 days in the NICU due to feeding issues. After coming home he was doing well and thriving but needed some extra assistance. He started PT and then eventually OT and speech therapy. He’s since graduated from PT and OT twice and continues to get speech therapy.
What makes you proud of you NICU graduate?Luke has always been a fighter and such a sweet boy. He has a contagious smile and is always the light of the room. Luke has overcome every obstacle so far and continues to amaze me. You would never know now how his life began. He’s my little miracle and I’m thankful for him everyday!
