My NICU Graduate's Journey
King had a stroke at 27 weeks before he was born which caused him not to move in utero. We went to the hospital for an emergency C-section and little King was born at 1lb and 14oz and on oxygen. I was told he would be delayed in learning and possibly have cerebral palsy due to the stroke. King was in the hospital growing and getting stronger for 154 days or 5 months. After those long 5 months King graduated from the NICU at Brookwood Medical Hospital and was sent home on oxygen. Shortly after he was released King went to the neurologist and we were told the bleed in his brain was gone! We are grateful to all the staff at the hospital and mostly to GOD for everything that happened during our journey.

What makes you proud of you NICU graduate?
I am so proud that even after everything little King has been through he has continued to be strong and has continued to let God’s light shine through him. King loves learning and he is super smart!
