NICU Hospital for my journeyCleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital
My NICU Graduate's JourneyAt 37 weeks, Kai had to be delivered via cesarean due to preeclampsia with severe features. At that time, both our lives were at risk and the only way to make sure she was going to be okay was to bring her into this world. Her soul and spirit were incredibly strong from the moment she was taken from her shelter, and we could all tell that she would make easy work of this preemie business. She may have only been 4lbs and 14oz, but she was strong. She was trying to roll over and lift her tiny head and the NICU nurses were amazed by her determination. A character already.
She didn't have an extremely difficult journey in the NICU like some of these other beautiful and strong babies, but there were some ups and downs.
My family and I are so very blessed and thankful that she was with of the NICU babies, the amazing NICU Nurses, and Guardian Angels.
What makes you proud of you NICU graduate?Kai's tenacity, empathy, love, strength, compassion, curiosity, and all her beautiful characteristics make me so proud of her every moment of every day. She has a personality that will light up the darkest of rooms. Her kindness and helpfulness towards people (stranger or friend) is truly inspiring. She has the most infectious laugh/giggle and when she smiles, it not only lights her eyes up, but will light yours up as well. She is my idol. She is my world. She is my solace. She is my preemie baby. She is Kailana Reagan Boesch.
