NICU Hospital for my journeyVCU Medical Center
My NICU Graduate's JourneyMiles was born at 28 weeks, we had lost his twin sister the day before. He had grade 4 brain bleeds and hydrocephalus and dealt with daily brain taps for the extra fluid, a Rickham reservoir, a peritoneal shunt, meningitis (and shunt removal) and has now had two more shunts put in, as well as two revisions - all in 15 months of life!
What makes you proud of you NICU graduate? With ALL the things Miles has faced so far in his 15 months, including his g-tube, his moderate to severe hearing loss and hearing aids and epilepsy, I have never met a happier baby! Miles smiles all the time, loves to belly laugh and kicks butt at his therapies every week!
