My NICU Graduate's Journey
Sienna was born at 23 weeks gestation weighing 1 pound (460g) and 11 inches long during the height of the Covid pandemic. She spent 146 days in the NICU. During her stay, she had her PDA ligated, had injections in her eyes for ROP, and had a feeding tube placed. She also battled sepsis! She stayed to her true sassy self and was a brave fighter. Sienna is now a smart and strong 3.5 year old. She continues with her feeding tube as well as weekly occupational and speech therapy. She loves soccer, dance, swimming, and gymnastics. She loves being outside and playing with her friends and family.

What makes you proud of you NICU graduate?
I’m most proud of Sienna’s resilience and strength . She has been through so much in her short life and remains the happiest person I know. She is my hero!
