NICU Hospital for my journeyMercy San Juan Medical Center
My NICU Graduate's JourneyBrantley is our rainbow baby after 2 previous losses. We were told I would need IVF after I had undergone surgery and infertility medications. After trying to conceive for 3 more years, we were finally pregnant with our miracle baby. I had an extremely high risk pregnancy due to being diagnosed with placenta prévia, vasa prévia and placenta accreta. Brantley was born via emergency csection due to an uncontrolled hemorrhage. I had to have an emergency hysterectomy during my C-section due to the accreta. He was born healthy despite only having one kidney. We are truly blessed that our one and only child is thriving.
What makes you proud of you NICU graduate? We are so proud of Brantley because he surpassed all his milestones when they said there’s a possibility he would be delayed at them. He is 5 yrs old now and plays hockey, loves to write words and numbers, is so creative in his coloring, and has started to learn sign language to communicate with a classmate. The opportunities he has are endless and we can’t wait to see where life takes him.
