NICU Hospital for my journeyHackley Hospital
My NICU Graduate's JourneyAlysa was born at 29 weeks weighing just 3 lbs 4 oz, at 2 months she came home drinking a bottle and doing really good, after spending just 3 weeks at home she stopped breathing on us (they revived her 3 different times) AFTER me taking her to the ER multiple days in a row they just kept on sending her home….. she had staph infection throughout her blood and pneumonia. She had to have a blood transfusion, and was kept in a coma for a couple days. She spent another 3 months in the hospital, she couldn’t keep anything down because of how bad her acid reflex was, she had to have surgery on her stomach called the unison wrap (they wrapped the smaller part of her stomach around the larger part) she can no longer puke, and then she finally got to come home on a G-tube. She had to have feeding therapy once a week, heart appts every 3 months (she had 2 holes in her heart), she had physical therapy every other week, and we had to change out her G-tube every 3 months. She was on a G-tube for the first 3 years of her life.
What makes you proud of you NICU graduate? How strong she is, she truly is a living miracle
