NICU Hospital for my journeySt. David’s Medical Center
My NICU Graduate's JourneyMargaret was our miracle baby. Margaret was born with imporforate anus, a hemi-vertebrae, and scimitar syndrome complicated by vsg and a hypoplastic lung, and prematurity. She survived countless cardiac arrests, an colostomy surgery, and pulmonary complications. While her twin looked very healthy, Margaret had complications from the beginning and was thought to have liscencephaly in utero. Both girls were born at 26w and 4 days, and Margaret spent 6 months and 3 days in the NICU. She was the smiliest little babe, and everyone fell in love with her and sister from the beginning. We cannot thank our NICU family enough for the amount of support and love they poured into keeping our girls alive.
What makes you proud of you NICU graduate?Margaret has exceeded all of our expectations. She is now off of all her medications, finished with therapies, and had an ostomy reversal in April of 2023. She’s mischievous and uses her big brown eyes to get anyone to give in to her every demand. She’s our sweet angel with so much to say and loves to dance!
