NICU Hospital for my journeyEast Tennessee Children's Hospital
My NICU Graduate's JourneySophia was a miracle baby, as I didn't know I could have children. We had a baby shower on the 15th of April 2023 and Sophia made her grand entrance on April 18th due to me not feeling well and later learning I had preeclampsia. She was the prettiest little baby. She weighed 5lbs and 2oz. They took her away about 30 mins after having her. She was in the NICU for 2 1/2 weeks. The worst feeling not having her with me while I was still in the hospital and not being able to take her straight home when I was discharged. She had to have a feeding tube as she couldn't feed at first. She had a little made board on her arm for most of her time there to keep her from pulling out her IV. She also had to have time under the UV light due to having Jaundice.
What makes you proud of you NICU graduate? But to see how much my sweet cupcake has grown and is learning to walk, talk and can eat and sings...she loves reading and story time. She has a huge personality! She loves meeting people and smiling! She loves watching PBS kids. It's such a blessing to see her grow up and then look back at the pictures and videos of her in the NICU and being under the UV Lights for her Jaundice or the tubes because she couldn't eat! I thank God for my daughter and twice as hard for all her progress.
