My NICU Graduate's Journey
Alasdair was born at 24 weeks due to preeclampsia/HELLP Syndrome.
He was in the NICU for 137 days and endured many medical procedures including a g-tube placement before he could come home. He has had multiple surgeries and procedures since coming home, including genetic testing and scans of his brain to assess his risk of seizures in the future. He finally had his g-tube removed in September of 2022 because he was able to consume his needed calories through liquid orally.
He just turned 4 in January 2024 and officially reached 30lbs at the beginning of this year.
He is still working towards catching up developmentally but has teams of doctors, therapists and the support of his family to provide him with all the tools he needs to succeed.
Everything will come in "Alasdair-Time", and that is all we could ever hope for.

What makes you proud of you NICU graduate?
Alasdair has never let anything slow him down. He has surpassed so many milestones impressing his doctors, therapists and family. He is extremely intelligent, and loves to read and learn new things.

We are so proud of everything he has accomplished and look forward to seeing what challenges he conquers in the future!

He is our tiny superhero!
