My NICU Graduate's Journey
Jaxson was born with his liver and intestines on the outside of his body. A few days after moving to transition rooms in preparation for going home we found a genetic mutation that caused his heart function to drop 20% in a week. Jaxson came home after 50 days with an NG tube, daily dressings and compressions, multiple medicines and almost weekly doctor appointments. At six months old Jaxson had full closure surgery, a surgeon made bellybutton and had ditched the NG tube! At 10 months old he’s wide open and hitting every milestone, you’d never know anything he’s went through if it wasn’t for his warrior scar.

What makes you proud of you NICU graduate?
Jaxson at only 10 months has been through more trials and tests, not including pain, than many adults have ever dealt with in their whole life. He’s the happiest and sweetest boy you’ll never meet. Nothing has or will hold him back.
