NICU Hospital for my journeyMonmouth Medical Center
My NICU Graduate's Journey"Little" Al came into the world at just 2lbs 10oz. Defying the odds, day by day, Little Al would grapple with several health obstacles. After 8 long weeks, our boy was finally able to come home with us. His first 2 years of life were filled with endless visits to doctors, specialists & developmental clinics. Watching Little Al take these strides was inspiring. How someone so small could face these things with such resilience. To this day, Little Al is the definition of perseverance. Testing the limit, overcoming hurdles day in and out. His NICU journey has infused him with tenacity and bravery that will continue to lead him through a life of success.
What makes you proud of you NICU graduate? Seeing a baby fight & struggle to survive day by day is exhausting and devastating for any parent. But while in the NICU each small feat and step forward feels like a huge success. It's a sigh of relief.
Although he doesn't remember, or probably even realize, the first 8 weeks of his life were the most crucial. Little Al remained so strong.
Thats what we continue to do. We still make every accomplishment, no matter how small, feel like the biggest celebration!
