NICU Hospital for my journeyThe Mount Sinai Hospital
My NICU Graduate's JourneyZari Akelah was born at 26 weeks and 5 days. She spent 13 weeks in NiCU. Her first two weeks of life was tough. Inner Zari overcame so much while being in NICU. She had three blood transfusions and a small heart murmur, which eventually closed with medicine. No surgery needed. Took her awhile to come off CPAP. Eventually at 11 1/2 weeks she was able to come off. In the same week she was taking off her feeding tube. Zari’s main nurses loved her and made sure she was always comfortable and styled with a cute bow on her CPAP headband. She is a very smart little girl and loves to play and laugh. Zari is a big time Daddy’s girl.
What makes you proud of you NICU graduate? How strong Zari was and powered through to the smart little 1 year old today.
