My NICU Graduate's Journey
Kalani was born at 31 weeks gestation weighing 1080g because of maternal HELLP syndrome. She received 2 blood transfusions, was on BCPAP and required a nasal cannula before transitioning to room air. At one point she required continuous feeds and a PICC line because of low blood sugar values. She spent 48 days in the NICU and progressive care nurseries before being discharged home.

What makes you proud of you NICU graduate?
My daughter is one of the strongest and most resilient 4 year olds I know. She has had some pulmonary issues requiring steroids since discharge but other than that, she’s feisty and amazing. I am blessed to be her mother.
