NICU Hospital for my journeyTexas Health Resources - Denton
My NICU Graduate's JourneyLong before she came (we didn’t know sex until birth), Mackenzie’s first and middle name, Hail, was chosen. At 34 weeks I was sent to the hospital for monitoring and it was decided that the safest bet would be to deliver that night. Right before I went to the OR, a more emergent case came in so Mackenzie was born right after midnight the next morning. Right before we went back to meet our baby, it started hailing. Mackenzie Hail was born on Tuesday 2/22/2022 during a hailstorm. She was immediately taken to NICU where they started all necessary interventions. During every test, her Dad read Jurassic park out loud to her. We were told that she would likely stay in the NICU until my due date, but our strong determined girl was discharged after 5 days.
What makes you proud of you NICU graduate?Everything she does makes me proud, but one of my favorite things is her curiosity. She will try any food, loves to read, and will likely be a mountain climber in the future. She just loves being a part of everything around her.
