My NICU Graduate's Journey
Camreigh was due in October, but experienced a rough start and arrived 11 weeks early. She stopped growing at 18 weeks gestation due to placental abruption. She was faced with many obstacles during her NICU stay but her care team always referred to her as “a fighter, and a warrior.” Doctors after she left the NICU underestimated her even though Camreigh defied all odds against her. She accomplished more than any doctor ever said she would. “She wouldn’t walk, she would lose her vision, total hearing loss, she would never meet expectations as other children.” Camreigh graduates Kindergarten and will go on to first grade next year, and she will turn 7 in July.

What makes you proud of you NICU graduate?
She does not give up easily on anything she has set her mind to do. She is resilient in every single way, and she is the most compassionate, kind, loving, empathetic, big hearted, generous sweetest little soul. She makes the world a better place, and her smile can light up the darkest of rooms. She will give you support and encouragement when you need it. She’s a good friend, and she cares so much about others. She loves helping people, and I am so extremely proud to call this girl my daughter. She is the purest form of unconditional love.
