My NICU Graduate's Journey
Mycandra was born with Duodenal Atresia and Intestinal Malrotation along with a small hold in her heart. She had surgery at 24hrs old to repair her Blockage & Malrotation. The hole in her heart closed on its own. She's dealt with issues her whole life & we were told when we we're 20 weeks pregnant that she wouldn't live past 1 & would have major issues if she did & was informed it would be best to terminate but we chose a different path & she showed all of us that she's a fighter. She still struggles with serious issues regarding her intestines but if you were to look at her you wouldn't ever know that she's struggling. She's a fighter & has such a beautiful heart, she's making friends with everyone she comes into contact with. She makes sure every person she meets she tells them how beautiful they are & refuses to leave a place without telling at least 4 people how awesome she thinks they are or that they matter to this world. She's truly my hero & I'm so blessed to be her Momma. We don't know when things can take a turn for her but until it does she's living life to the fullest she can regardless of her Health.
