My NICU Graduate's JourneyMcKynlie was born at 29 weeks at 1lb, 14oz after I was on hospital bedrest since 25 weeks. She was in the NICU for 107 days. At one point, she was the oldest baby in the NICU. She had 9 blood transfusions, MRSA Staph infection, Chronic lung disease, liver and kidney issues. McKynlie came home on oxygen for 22 months, and a NG feeding was placed at the age of 3. Today, McKynlie is 8 years old. She has a diagnosis of developmental delays, sensory processing disorder, Pediatric feeding disorder, characteristics of dysplasia, and severe anxiety. But she is our Sassy little Diva
What makes you proud of you NICU graduate?McKynlie's strength and fight to do her absolute best. When she is in her therapy sessions, she doesn't stop until she get or understand what she is working on. Her resilience to keep pushing on and will power. She makes me so proud to be her mom.
