NICU Hospital for my journeyDriscoll Children's Hospital
My NICU Graduate's JourneyOllie spent his first 47 days in the NICU and received a g-tube so that he could finally come home. He received exceptional care at Driscoll Children's Hospital when transferred from the birthing hospital and still receives awesome care from his outpatient specialists to this day. I wish I had known about all these awesome organizations when we were in the NICU. I have utilized them for support since he's graduated for sure though! We recently celebrated his graduation anniversary. He also had a helmet and we had a graduation for that too! This kid's going big places with two major graduations before kindergarten even starts! I didn't really understand a lot of what was going on during his stay or why he wouldn't eat - and we didn't really start getting answers until the last month or so. I'm glad we are learning more about our baby and how to better care for him and keep him comfortable! While in NICU, Ollie didn't get many diagnoses at all, but since leaving he's gotten plenty! They've helped us understand him more! We sure do love our little lumpster. ❤️
What makes you proud of you NICU graduate?I'm so proud of how resilient Ollie is. He's my hero. I am reparenting myself while parenting him. He is so happy, so well-adjusted, and he really loves his independence. He hardly needs me anymore, he just wants to feed himself and get to stepping! Before we know it he'll be a taxpayer, lol. I gotta stop this kid from growing like a weed!
