NICU Hospital for my journeyTucson Medical Center
My NICU Graduate's JourneyOur NICU Grad, as been on a wild journey filled will ups and down, she was born at 23w 5d with an 2% survival. She was trached, had to have G-tube placed and even survived ECMO and cardiac arrest within the 1year of life. Her journey continues to this day 9 and a half years later, she is working on learning to communicate, and become more independent so that she can live an independent life when she is an adult. She is learning to live with long term diagnoses such as epilepsy, cerebral palsy, and Autism. But everyday I’m she is getting stronger and smarter.
What makes you proud of you NICU graduate? What makes us the proudest of our NICU Grad that she is a fighter even when she didn’t want to fight, she fought, she proved every doctor wrong. When the doctors tell you they have no idea how she survived and that she’s miracle, that right gave us plenty to be proud of. She just works hard to do everything all the other kids around her are able to do.
