My NICU Graduate's JourneyMira Victoria Saeland (formerly and name in NICU, Rasaka)
Was born 6 weeks early via an emergency C-section.
She weighed 3lb 4oz.
She had surgery at two days old for a ‘double bobble’ in her gut..
Her mommy was hospitalized with preeclampsia for 4weeks prior to her birth.
Her ‘due date’ was June 15.
She was born so tiny & fragile, but that was never been her personality! Everyone that knows hers her, says she ‘different’. She has a heart of gold especially for animals. She’s generous, kind and loves with all her heart.
She spent 4 weeks in the NICU fighting for her life yet, would fight for everyone (including her siblings) every day!
Mira means ‘light’ in Hebrew. (Among others)
And she shines it wherever she goes.. almost like her ‘superpower!’..
What makes you proud of you NICU graduate?Anyone who meets Mira, would say she shines her ‘light’ on everything she touches.
Ever since her first day of life, I was proud to be her mommy.
With every touch, poke, tubes, sounds and machines attached to her since birth, she took it with such grace and stride. Never fussed or cried. A true ‘warrior’.
It’s like it didn’t phase her.. since then, I’ve been proud to see do that to this day. Never fusses, never cried (to bad), always with grace and perfect stride.
If she can go through all of that, and still have a heart of gold, at 3lbs.. that makes me so proud to be her mommy!! ❤️
