My NICU Graduate's Journey
Baby boy was delivered early at 30wks due to Preeclampsia. He stayed 64 days in the NICU at Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children, Denver Colorado.
He had no complications like bleeds or neurologic. They called him a grower and a feeder. Boy did he grow, he was quite large for his age.
He did struggle to learn the bottle, and he would Brady often. He had reflux, and we had to hold him up for 30+ mins after feeding to fend off power pukes.
I think of his primary nurses all the time. Those ladies held me together and showed such love and tender care to my baby. I couldn't of asked for more, the gratitude I have for everyone of those nurses, doctors is immeasurable.

What makes you proud of you NICU graduate?
Elric doesn't seem to know he had a rough start. He has been hitting every milestone on time, and is testing ahead for congnitive ability. I'm so proud of his ability to observe and mimic. I was worried that he'd be delayed, that he'd never be able to interact with children his age. But he proves me wrong every time.
