NICU Hospital for my journeyUT Southwestern Medical Center
My NICU Graduate's JourneyHe's had an up and down journey but he pulled through it all. On the Father's Day after he was born he was transported to the local children's hospital. He coded during the transport and we were told to say our goodbyes. He had other plans. He was resuscitated 3 other times while in the NICU. It is truly a roller-coaster. No parents journey is the same but they are all full of emotion. It is an experience that can break you but will ultimately make you understand the true meaning of hope.
What makes you proud of you NICU graduate? He's had an up and down journey but through it all he is always all smiles. He wakes up everyday and says, "It's a great day to be awake!" When it's cloudy outside, he's just happy. He is becoming aware of his differences and he thinks they are great. He loves his braces and has determined that he will be a Scientist so he can cure brain damage like his so no kids will have to worry about Cerebral Palsy or seizures ever again. He is truly one of a kind and has brought our family closer than ever.
