NICU Hospital for my journeyMcLane Children’s Hospital
My NICU Graduate's JourneyWilliam was born at 32 weeks and battled a lot in his 8 week admission. He needed to be intubated, multiple chest tubes, he received various medications to get his lungs working correctly, and lots of time to grow and learn how to eat. He had so many scary moments but was such a little warrior throughout his journey. He kept us strong. Now, he is a healthy, wild, bug loving , monster truck obsessed toddler and it almost seems like a distant memory that he was ever as sick as he was. We’ll forever be thankful to our NICU team for helping to keep our sweet boy with us. We can’t imagine life without him.
What makes you proud of you NICU graduate?Everything! He’s strong willed, persistent, fearless, adventurous, empathetic, and so loving. He’s our sour patch kid for sure - so challenging one moment and such a sweetheart the next. He’s hysterical and keeps us all on our toes daily! He has persevered through so much in his short life and we couldn’t be more proud.
