My age...4
My likes, quirks, & curiosities...I’m pawsitive you’ll find all you need to know about me below🐶
A little about me...My mom and I walk all day and I mean it. My mom led a sedentary life before we met and now we walk 8 miles a day. I guess she has nothing else to do but give me what I want. She says I deserve it after where I came from. Her doctor said she’s never seen anyone’s labs change so much because of a dog. I don’t know what that means because I’m a yorkie mix.
When I first moved in I didn’t know where I was and I was scared. The only safe place I could find to sleep was under the bed. It was okay but I like it better now. Now I sleep on a soft, cozy mattress with my very own pillow! Sometimes my mom wakes up on the other side of the bed. She says it’s like having kids again and laughs and laughs.
Sometimes I sit in front of my best friend Ian’s apartment and wait for him to come out. And I wait. And wait. And wait. When he comes out we wrestle like The Rock and John Cena. I’m so tired after I sleep like my brother-in-law in his recliner on Thanksgiving afternoon.
Which reminds me- I have my very own recliner! It’s my favorite place to lay. My mom moved it right in front of the glass so after our epic walks I lay there and watch all the people going by. Plus- this way I always know right away when Ian comes out!
I know I’m not the easiest dog. I itch a lot, have a really sensitive stomach, hate riding in the car, and don’t like everyone… my mom keeps bringing me to a really nice woman who is trying to help. She wears a white coat and is so nice to me. I hope she understands why I can’t trust her yet.
I hear my mom telling people we’re getting there. She says it’s only been 18 months and that I’m really starting to trust her. She tells people it’s harder for rescues but that it also makes everything more meaningful.
I don’t know what that means, but I know I can’t believe how lucky I am. I spend my days walking, sniffing, wrestling with Ian, laying in the recliner and on the grass under the picnic table and my nights snuggled in a cozy bed. I have food to eat everyday, clean water to drink and more toys than I knew existed!
I have so many people who love me- some people call me “The Mayor”. But besides my mom my favorite people are the KIDS. (They’re who my mom used to spend time with before I got here. She calls them grand. I guess that makes me… magnificent.) Boy do I love them! I like seeing them even more then I like sniffing… but maybe not as much as seeing Ian.
Anyway, life is good. That’s what my mom says. And now, she’s right.
