Story
I implore you all to make a donation as a memorial tribute to sweet, loving, and gentle, "Cody." On his adoption day, he was peering behind his kennel bars with a urgent and soulful expression. When he buried his head in the adoption counselor lap and whimpered profusely, I decided right away that I wanted him. Walking outside, Cody's tail was always wagging and I immediately noticed his happy-go-lucky spirit.
At home, he was terrified when I left his side or was out of sight. It took him a few months to relax. Because of Cody's calm, gentle, and attentive nature, he passed the temperament test and was transferred into the Next Step Service Dog Program. I began training him as a service dog for an ex-veteran. However, Cody's life was suddenly cut short by an unfortunate toxicity on July 2, 2014. I want everyone to remember beloved Cody and his dedication towards becoming a wonderful Next Step Service Dog for a deserving military veteran.
