My dog is the coolest because...
Dexter was abused for a year and a half. One example , he was hung by a tree on a regular basis, When I got him surrender back he was completely broken. He was afraid of everything. He would hunker down in the corner of the fence with his head in the corner. It took me over a week to touch him. I saw hope in his eyes. There was still something there. We began exposure training. Slowly he began to trust me. Once I gained his trust I knew we could work together through every challenge. Today he is confident. He was a foster but he stole my heart. He is now 4 years old living his best life and welcomes new fosters to our home. He shows new fosters that scary things are ok. His is a survivor! His nickname is big head because he is over 140lbs!!! He is proof that broken souls can make it. If you have read this far thank you so much.
