My dog is the coolest because...
Hi, I hope my photo caught your attention to tell my story. Don't be sad for me I am living an exciting dream life with my family. It all started back in November 2016 when I was 2 yrs old. I was found walking the prairies of Hazard County KY hoppling along with one severely injured leg. The kind residents of KY brought me to a local shelter and to their surprise I was carrying a litter. The veterinary staff helped me deliver those pups and take care of them. An x-ray was taken showing shot gun pellets causing a shattered leg. Surgery was performed to removed my leg and after my recovery I was driven to Oshkosh WI for adoption. In February 2017, my brother picked me up after his classes at UW Oshkosh and drove me to my forever home to meet my family in Illinois. I spend a lot of time between Illinois and Wisconsin.

All that has happened to me would not have been provided without the time and money donated from caring people. These shelters help dogs in all situations find their forever homes and receive needed medical care. My mom tells me everyday that this is my home and I will never be hungry again. I know she is telling the truth because she has added 23 rugs to our home decor to allow me to freely run around the house and bark at all those bunnies and squirrels thru the windows.

Life is good for me and my canine sister Maryann who is also a rescue dog. You may see us walking around Oshkosh WI or Lemont IL with our parents, please stop and say hi because I love all the pets and attention-plus my parents love to meet new people. In the past, I have walked up to 5 miles according to my mom's fitbit but now that I am aging I'm down to 2-3 miles. I love every minute of sniffing around the shores of Lake Winnebago and thru the Oshkosh Miller Bay & Northshore neighborhoods. Walks are especially better when I see the "Cookie Man"-he has the best cookies in his pockets. It still gets better because as we make our way home we see his wife who gives us more cookies-Walks are Awesome!! They are the sweetest couple (aka Jim & Sheryl). Other exciting walks are the playgrounds of Lemont IL, hanging out at the end of the slides or the picnic area is sure to get me a few hugs and treats-kids always have good snacks. Adding to my adventures, we frequently take nature walks along the I&M Canal trail and quarries of Lemont. The smells are amazing there. My life is pretty busy between camping, boating and brewery hoping with Mom and Dad. Breweries in both Illinois and Wisconsin are fantastic always providing cold water on warm days although my dad prefers the IPA's.

If I get selected for a brew, I think a cool name is the "3 Hour Tour". That is the distance between Lemont to Oshkosh. My canine sister's name is Maryann, our S.S. Minnow is our pontoon boat where my dad is the Skipper and lately mom is acting like a Gilligan. lol
