My dog is the coolest because...
Our Freckles (A.K.A Wiggle Butt) was adopted from our local animal shelter (The H.E.L.P. Shelter in Waupaca) in 2013. My husband and I had been volunteering there twice a week to walk dogs. Freckles was being over-looked time and time again. She was over- weight and what some would call a bully breed (although a doggy DNA kit would later revile that her predominant breeds are Brittany spaniel and Boxer). She has some permanent scaring on her nose because when people would walk through the shelter, she would stick her nose through the wire 7kennel door and wiggle her butt hoping those walking by might just be her adopters and finally give her the family she had been longing for!

Finally my husband and I decided that she might be a good fit for our house! We brought her home as a foster and she quickly stole our hearts!

Freckles is the coolest because despite her size, she is extremely gentle and LOVES attention, but understands when works needs to be done and is simply okay with just being near you as your "protector."

She is good with children small or large, loves kitties, and other dogs, and of course loves all people (don't let her deep bark fool you)!

She travels well in the car and although she is a Green Bay Packers fan and calls Wisconsin home, she is well travelled and has been to many U.S. states! She is enjoys boating (but hates to swim in water that goes past her belly), loves anything involving snow (snowshoeing, building snow tunnels to run through in the yard with her human dad), hiking, and enjoys a good dog friendly patio when her parents go out and enjoy a brew!

Freckles would visit the Wisconsin Veteran's Home and would greet anyone who even smiled in her direction with a butt wiggle for all the veterans who served our country!

Since the pandemic she enjoys barking particularly loud when her mom is on conference calls because she hears a strange voice and assumes everyone in the house is in great danger with a stranger! LOL

She brings great joy to our house and we are advocates that shelter pets are the best pets! There are too many unwanted dogs and cats in our local shelters and we would like to change people's minds about adopting an adult dog or cat and be a family of advocates for those still searching for their furever homes!
