My dog is the coolest because...
Beau came from the same local Reservation that NAS supports; whether it’s transferring an animal, volunteering at a local Spay & Neuter Clinic, or donating extra food. When Beau first came to me, his name was “Dog.” It was determined that Beau (Dog) was a stray for several months (northeast Wi) before being “turned in” to the authorities for loitering. After a vet visit, it was determined this poor 7 month old dog had 30+ tapeworms, hookworms, whip worms, intestinal flukes, AND nemotodes. He needed to be treated, gain weight, and start to learn how to “dog.” He started out boycotting his new world by urinating and defecating everytime his foster mom would JUST clean up the last accident. He struggled with kennel training, walking on leash, accepting appropriate touch from people. BUT! Within a few weeks he was starting to show improvements because he moved to what we call “Berge’s Barking Barracks.” Beau quickly started to learn more things because he had other dogs to appropriately show him how. It really was fate from there. We foster failed Beau as our 4th dog of the house. We love him SO much as he never left ♥️ We just celebrated his first birthday and recently found his BIOLOGICAL brother in another area shelter that we were able to pull out and help. The Neenah Animal Shelter & Unforgettable Underdogs Dog Rescue have such a great partnership- all to help those in need!
