My dog is the coolest because...
Jango is the most awesome, coolest pup because he likely didn't have the best start in life, yet he is sweet and loving and wants nothing more than to enjoy life with his family! He was found wandering the streets of Chicago and taken to animal control where he was never claimed. His sad eyes behind the bars of his cage made his potential foster mom say "We've got to get this boy out!" , and Mit Liebe German Shepherd Rescue then arranged for his fortunate move to Wisconsin. Someone had named this poor guy "Dopey" at the shelter, and he was stuck with that name until he could be adopted. Months went by in his foster home with little to no interest in him- could it be from the ridiculous name??? Nobody could figure out the lack of interest because he was a GREAT dog- smart, happy, no obvious trauma or issues to work through that many rescue dogs come with- and cute as a could be with bright , intelligent eyes and the natural inquisitiveness of a smart and happy dog . His foster family only had intent to foster him until an adoptive home could be found, but he was using this time to sneakily win over everyone in the household with his smiley face, charming personality, and bouncy energy, because he had apparently decided that he was home for good! After almost 4 months, his foster family decided he needed to be a permanent family member - and he became a "foster fail". The first order of business was changing his name- as it felt like they were insulting him every time they called his name, and they were tired of telling people " Yes, his name is Dopey and no, we didn't name him that." So "Dopey" became "Jango" and is living his best life as a much loved family member . He enjoys playing with his dog sister Yetta, another rescue GSD, and jumping after the frisbee in such a springy fashion he has earned the nickname "Jangaroo". He is Home, and has been all along- it just took his family a little extra time to realize that!
