My dog is the coolest because...
Reggie was rescued almost 4 years ago from the streets of Turkey. He was left to fend for himself until a kind, dog-loving man, Emre, saved him and brought Reggie to “the garden” where hundreds of other street dogs are cared for. Emre gives his heart and soul to helping the dogs left in the streets or dumped by the landfills. Tattered Paws and Golden Hearts, a dog rescue founded by Nancy Rieley in Seattle, and many other volunteers, help the “Turkey-Dogs” in Emre’s garden find adopters in the US and Canada. We were lucky enough to discover Reggie on the rescue website. I couldn’t refuse to give this sweet boy a home with us in WI. He took the 14 hour flight from Istanbul to JKF Airport, then was transported via car by several volunteers from New York to our pick up point in Chicago. He is definitely a world traveler! The amount of generosity and kindness all of the volunteers who came together to make this rescue happen was awe-inspiring. I would love it if Reggie was considered as Top Dog. I would like to bring a greater awareness to the street dogs of the world who deserve a second chance at finding the perfect family to give them a loving home. Even if it’s more than 5,000 miles away! Reggie enjoys living with his mom and dad, 3 human brothers and doggy sister, Zoey. Thank you.
