Why is your dog the coolest?
Patriot was born on 9/11/2016. When I was 16, I saved up to get my dream dog and I finally was able to. Three years later, my mom got into an accident that left her partially paralyzed. Once we were back on our feet and steady after the trauma, I started training Patriot to do things that my mom was no longer able to do. Patriot became my mothers unofficial "service dog." If my mom falls and needs help getting up, he is there right away. Patriot has always been a huge support system for my mom and I with her new disabilities from her accident. He is ALWAYS by her side. She is able to walk somewhat, but can't feel her legs. He becomes her guide dog, pulling her through thick and thin with his favorite "helper harness." Because of Patriot my mother is still able to do most of the things she loved doing before the accident. He travels with her everywhere, taking her on her favorite (easier) hikes to exploring caves in Texas. Because of him I am more comfortable letting my mom live by herself on the hobby farm. When school was starting back up, I had to make the decision of bringing him with me or leaving my precious dog back home. My choice was obvious, because she needed him. Going to school and living in Green Bay is hard some days knowing she is alone, but knowing he is there with her puts my mind at ease. If it wasn't for him, she wouldn't be able to do her favorite everyday things. He will always be our hero, as cheesy as that sounds.
