Pet's Story
Nauti has been in the NFSAW calendar before but last year Mya came into our home. She is an older cat about 15 who I fostered and then adopted from the shelter. I volunteer there and have taken in older cats before. Mya was not doing well and we were not sure how long she would last. Her owner had passed away and she also had kidney disease. Since coming into my home she started thriving. Sometimes despite the best care and love received from NFSAW employees and volunteers, the stress from sharing a space with other cats can affect some of them especially after being in their own home for many years.Mya was one of these cats. As you can see these two get along great and share a rug in our kitchen waiting for their breakfast. They sit together every day and wait for their treats too.Nauti has always liked cats so I knew Mya would be okay with her. If anyone ever wonders about adopting older cats just look at this picture to see how well it can go. Of course Nauti has a wonderful disposition and she is a special dog. Mya has adjusted very well and loves her new home. Both of these animals bring love and joy to our home each day. Please consider adopting or perhaps fostering one of these wonderful cats. I’m glad I did .
