Please tell us about your Coronado Memory
President Franklin D. Roosevelt and wife Eleanor visited San Diego and Coronado in October 1935. I remember being let out of grade school to stand on the curb to watch his entourage pass along Orange Avenue as his open limousine headed for the Hotel Del. We also saw him go by the next day as he drove to the ferry after his inspection of Rockwell Field and the Naval Air Station on North Island. An imbedded memory for a 5-year-old.
